Privacy Policy - Japanese Vocab Master
Last updated: May 25, 2026
"Japanese Vocab Master" ("the App") places the utmost importance on protecting the personal information and privacy of its users. The App complies with international data protection regulations, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and has established this Privacy Policy accordingly.
1. Collection and Use of Personal Information
1.1 Local Processing of In-App Data
User data that forms the core functionality of the App — including quiz answer history, incorrect question lists, and the "Memorize List (Bookmarks)" — is stored and accumulated solely within the user's device (local storage) and is never transmitted to or collected by our servers.
1.2 App Usage Analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase)
The App uses "Google Analytics for Firebase," provided by Google Inc., for the purpose of improving app functionality, detecting bugs early, and enhancing the user experience. This tool automatically collects anonymous behavioral data such as app launch counts, screen transitions, and button tap events. These data are processed as statistical information and contain no information that identifies any specific individual.
For details on how Google collects and processes data, please refer to:
2. Advertising
The App uses the third-party advertising service "Google AdMob." Ad delivery providers may use advertising identifiers (such as IDFA/AAID) and cookies to display personalized advertisements based on user interests. Data collected through this process is anonymous and does not identify any individual.
For more details on Google AdMob's data collection practices, please refer to:
3. Compliance with International Data Protection Regulations (GDPR / CCPA, etc.)
3.1 Users in the European Economic Area (EEA) and the United Kingdom (GDPR)
Users in the EEA and the United Kingdom have the right to manage and withdraw their consent to data collection by the App (advertising identifiers and analytics data) at any time. You may opt out of personalized advertising and data collection via the consent management banner (CMP) displayed when the App is first launched.
3.2 Users in California (CCPA)
Under California law, users have the right to opt out of the "Sale" or "Sharing" of their personal information (including anonymous identifiers) — also known as the "Do Not Sell My Personal Information" right. The App addresses this through its consent management settings.
4. User Rights and Data Deletion
4.1 Deletion of Local Data
All user data held by the App (quiz answer history, incorrect question lists, Memorize List, etc.) is stored solely within the user's device. You can immediately and completely delete all in-app data under your own control by uninstalling (deleting) the App from your device or by selecting "Clear App Storage/Cache" from your device's settings screen.
4.2 Managing Advertising and Analytics Data
For data such as anonymous identifiers collected by Google AdMob and Google Analytics for Firebase, you can manage and delete (opt out) them in the following ways:
- Changing settings via the consent management banner (CMP) displayed at app launch
- Using your device's own privacy settings (e.g., "Allow Apps to Request to Track" on iOS, or "Delete Advertising ID" on Android)
4.3 Inquiries Regarding the Exercise of Your Rights
If you wish to exercise your rights under GDPR (such as the right of access or the right to erasure / "right to be forgotten") or your various rights under the CCPA, please contact us via the contact information at the bottom of this page. As the App is architected to hold no personal information on its servers, deletion of personal information outside the device is generally not required; however, we will respond appropriately to any questions or requests.
5. Disclaimer Regarding Data Loss
The App uses an architecture that stores quiz answer history and settings data only within the user's device (local storage). If such data is lost due to loss, damage, or replacement of the device, deletion of the App, or OS malfunction, we assume no responsibility for data recovery or any resulting damages. Users are responsible for managing their own data.
6. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or the age defined by applicable law in the user's country of residence). The App does not intentionally collect personally identifiable information from children. If it is discovered that a child has consented to data collection (including anonymous identifiers) through the App without parental consent, we will promptly take appropriate action to stop such data collection.
